I just came back from spending the weekend in T.O. for ROCK THE BELLS and am the perfect mixture of exhausted and extatic. It's no secret that I'm a bit of a hip-hop head, and this festival rounded up almost every one of my favourite artists (K'Naan, Talib Kweli, Hi-Tek, the RZA, Mos Def and Nas). If Dead Prez, Raekwon, Lupe Fiasco and Immortal Technique had made the cut (or the border patrol) it would have been the perfect concert. Oh, and hip-hop festival boy-to-girl ratio: 5000 to 1. I don't think I've ever been stared at that much. Also, live music from 1.30 pm to 11.30 pm means 10 hours of non-stop dancing. I'm off to soak my legs in ice.

Thanks for your comments on my blog, too, I can't believe I hadn't seen that Regina Spektor film clip, I would think it must be inspired by the Holi festival!
