Time, why you walk away?

Just a little note to apologize once again for the lack of posts and to tell you guys that I will be taking a little break from blogging, probably until the Christmas vacations. I have recently started college again after taking a year off from school and am a little overwhelmed by my course load and work load. Clearly, this blog has suffered from that and I would rather not blog than post mediocre pictures of mediocre outfits. So, to my (few) readers, whom I am always so happy to hear from, I will talk to you during the winter break and I hope you all have a lovely semester :)

Devil in the details.

Just a quick post of the most random outfit detail... I've been such a horrible blogger as far as actually posting pictures goes, but I've been working hard at changing the look of the blog to make it more esthetically pleasing (and if you look around a bit, you'll even find pictures of my face free of sunglasses). As far as outfit pictures go, I haven't taken any recently for the simple reason that I haven't gotten much more than 3 hours of sleep per night in the last 3 weeks and look like... like the stuff of nightmares.

[T-shirt from random lebanese store, Calvin Klein blazer, Just USA jeans, American Eagle Outfitters belt and Ardène watches- to the people who know what this store is; don't judge. I just really like these watches.]

They weren't to know, they got caught up in your talent show...

I've been meaning to post these babies for a while... Got them at Zara maybe two months ago but only wore them once because... well because I have too many shoes. But also because the weather here is now a delicious mixture of cold + rain + humidity, which as we all know does wonders for one's shoes. Anyway, I think they are the sexiest things :)

And if you want another kind of love, I'll wear a mask for you...

I will step into the ring for you.
And if you want a doctor,
I'll examine every inch of you."

You stayed on my mind.

This week I: went to the beach, got the biggest sunburn known to man, bought a new purse, had a bbq/pool party with some friends, got about a million mosquito bites, met interesting people :)

Shadow dancing...

My friend and I were hanging out in my apartment today and we noticed that the light in the dining room looked kind of neat so we started snapping a couple of pictures. I really like the light in the early evening and I feel like it gives a sort of ethereal feel to this pic.. Or maybe it's just a picture of me sitting in the dark lol. P.S. I apologize for my messy apartment and complete lack of an interesting outfit :)

I'm a fool to want you...

When I woke up at 9.30 it was a beautiful day. Now it's pouring rain. V and I are spending the day watching the first season of True Blood and drinking tea. I hope everyone else is having a lovely sunny day :)

Oh baby you, you got what I need.

Horrible day. No, not horrible, that's a hyperbole. But let's just say, I spent literally my entire day in a school bus with 18 six year-old kids all more car sick than the next. I smell like baby wipes and about 15 different kinds of sunblock. I'm off to wallow with Entourage dvds and candy.

I got mad love for you, shorty.

I just came back from spending the weekend in T.O. for ROCK THE BELLS and am the perfect mixture of exhausted and extatic. It's no secret that I'm a bit of a hip-hop head, and this festival rounded up almost every one of my favourite artists (K'Naan, Talib Kweli, Hi-Tek, the RZA, Mos Def and Nas). If Dead Prez, Raekwon, Lupe Fiasco and Immortal Technique had made the cut (or the border patrol) it would have been the perfect concert. Oh, and hip-hop festival boy-to-girl ratio: 5000 to 1. I don't think I've ever been stared at that much. Also, live music from 1.30 pm to 11.30 pm means 10 hours of non-stop dancing. I'm off to soak my legs in ice.

Summer loving...

Things I love about summer: rain showers, smelling like coconut and bananas, cut-off shorts, aviator shades, walking everywhere, hot nights, ice cream runs, being a camp counselor, spending hours in the wading pool with my 6 year old campers, watermelon, tasting everything at the farmer's market, rock the bells/osheaga/jazz fest

You wanna sip Moe' on my living room floor...

Today I:

-Woke up at my friend's house and had jasmine tea and cherries for breakfast.

-Bought a t-shirt by Lush, two nail polishes by L.A. Girl (pale purple and neon orange) and a bib necklace.

-Had dinner with my friend Lo at Asian Fusion and ordered everything on the menu (fried calamari, shrimp toast, imperial rolls, sesame beef, szechuan shrimp, mango salad, papaya salad, shrimp mint salad, more calamari, more imperial rolls, fried bananas).

-Split a bottle of white, half a bottle of rosé and a bottle of lychee beer with Lo and got way tipsy.

-Watched The Devil Wears Prada with Lo and quoted the entire movie while it was playing (and got hit several times for doing that).

Je me fous de leurs fortunes, qu'ils laissent là où elle est la lune...

This is a rather uninspired post, with a title relating to nothing to top it off. It's been a lazy Sunday and so I have nothing to blog about but some new baubles... I didn't think I was one for this kind of ring, but I have to say I think it's really stunning. The amber is flecked with little gold spots, which I find makes it more interesting than other similar ornaments. I also googled amber and found that it is "capable of gaining a negative electrical charge by friction"... I'll keep that in mind.
